Embracing and Feeling Good In Your Body

Package You Come In

The number one most important thing about your body is how you feel in your body! Having energy, feeling alive and excited when you wake up, being healthy, and being able to do what you would like, because you feel good inside and out. Take care of your package so it can take care of you. Your body loves you and wants you to feel good, so treat it well!

Some things I’ve learned about my body is:

1 – The perfect body is all in they eye of the beholder

2 – You can be skinny and unhealthy and also the opposite.

3 – Feeling good inside your body has a lot to do with what you eat as well as your mindset.

4. How your clothes fit does matter and affect how you feel about your body.

5. What you eat you crave. Processed junk food or healthy whole food. Your palate will change for the worse or the better.

6. Whole, real food gives you energy and supports a healthy body.

7. We are all unique individuals, and all healthy foods may not be right for you, so you need to listen to your body and eat the ones that agree with you. This doesn’t include junk food however.

Enjoy your day!

Dreams and Purpose

Happy Friday Beautiful!

Dreams and Purpose

What are your dreams? I hope you have some, because at every age we need dreams and purpose no matter how young or old you are! Dreams give us things to strive for, hope, excitement about our lives, and goals. I have found when I talk to people that tell me they don’t have dreams, they are in a state of depression, illness or some other difficult circumstance. Finding a purpose and going to sleep with a dream can help.

Dreams and purpose also tie in with thankfulness. Can we be thankful in all circumstances? I admit it is much easier to be thankful when everything is going right, but it is possible to be thankful, have purpose and dreams when things are not. One tip is to get into the practice of writing down ten things you are thankful for every morning. You can have a pad next to your bed, a notebook, or jot it down while you are having breakfast on your phone’s notes. If you can’t think of anything, because your circumstances are too hard, start simple.

Please share with me, I want to know. What is one dream you have right now? What is one thing in your life that gives you purpose? Share with me in the comments. I promise, I am listening.

Step Out Into New Things. Don’t Let Fear Hold You Back!

Be Fearless!

Happy Friday! How was your week? You were created to have a vibrant life! Are you holding back from living your life to the full extent you were intended to? If fear is holding you back, and you are staying in the “safe zone”, how does it feel? It is comforting to be safe, I understand, but it is not always where you will live the life you were meant to have, and experience all the opportunities and blessings that are out there waiting for you. It can become boring and repetitive. To be human is to make mistakes, and sometimes this can make us fearful.
Spring is just around the corner, and it is a time of renewal. Today, I encourage you not to let fear keep you from enjoying your life, and putting the brakes on your destiny, no matter what your age!
What is something you would really like to do, but haven’t because you are afraid? It could be things as simple as talking to people you don’t know, starting a new career, changing your lifestyle, traveling, moving, volunteering, starting a new hobby or taking a class to learn something new…….fill in the blank. If fear is preventing you from making a change, start with something small. Pray about it. Seek a friend to encourage you. Then move on up and watch your life expand!
Love you guys!
Have a beautiful weekend!

Simple Peach Ice Cream (Dairy Free)

Peaches are in season now, and juicy ripe peaches are so good in ice cream! My children have been gobbling up all the peaches as I buy them at the organic market, but I was able to snatch a couple to make this ice cream recipe before they were gone. Peaches are very similar to tomatoes in that when they are ripe, and in season, they taste like a different food entirely. Do you know what I mean?

So, today I have a very simple and delicious seasonal ice cream recipe to share that is Dairy Free!

SIMPLE PEACH ICE CREAM

You will need an ice cream freezer. I used a Cuisinart.

Ingredients:

Two Ripe and Juicy Organic Peaches, Peeled and Pit Removed

1 Can of Full Fat Coconut Milk

6 Tablespoons of Good Honey

2 Tablespoons of Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

2 Teaspoons of Pure Vanilla Extract

1/4 Teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon

Simple Peach Ice Cream Recipe

Directions: Here is where an immersion blender comes in handy, but you can also use a regular blender and get the same results, just more clean up! Place all the ingredients into a 4 cup glass measuring cup, and blend with an immersion blender until smooth. Alternately, place in a blender and blend until smooth.

Refrigerate for four hours to chill thoroughly. Freeze in your ice cream maker.

Enjoy!

Stress and Anxiety Reducing Color Therapy (Coloring Isn’t Just for Kids)

Coloring for Adults to reduce stress or anxiety and increase a sense of well being? That’s what this book I found at a local book store recently claims. Currently, Color Therapy books are outselling cookbooks in France. See this article in the Huffington Post. The beautiful hardcover and intricate pictures piqued my interest. Stress reduction is one of the areas I work on with my clients. Coloring therapy books are currently outselling cookbooks in France. With stress on the rise, it is becoming more and more difficult to unwind, focus and decompress. I picked up a copy and couldn’t wait to get started and give it a try!

Doodling is allowed, you can choose your own medium (pencils, gels, pens), there are no rules. This book is broken down into color categories, blues, oranges, purples, reds, greens……. each color evoking different feelings and memories for the individual using the book.

What I found:

I have been using this book for a month now, and my concentration has increased, and I feel calm, peaceful and focused after a coloring session. Right now I am working on a two page spread of Koi Fish. I have taken it to the beach in the evening. Feelings of wellbeing washed over me like the sound of waves in the background as I let my artistic inclinations run free. Sitting outdoors with my husband chatting casually with each other, I picked up the hardcover, sturdy book, and actually found I heard more of what was said in the conversation and my mind did not wander (aren’t we all guilty of this sometimes?). I have also been using it when I need to unwind or am in go, go, go mode, and it has helped my mind slow down and think more clearly.

In conclusion, I love this trend! I am going to include it in the free giveaways I give my clients.

If you would like to try color therapy, you can find this popular new trend at a local bookstore or online. Here is the book I have been using, but there are plenty to choose from!

Peach and Berry Summer Fruit Salad

Hello Lovely People!!! One of the things so fantastic about this Summer Peach and Berry Fruit Salad is, it is just naturally gorgeous! You don’t have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, it is no cook, and it is nutrient rich. The nutrients, polyphenols and variety of natural from nature color pigments in the fruit feeds your skin, which is out in the sun more in the Summertime.

I know you all want your skin to glow! Am I right? Glowing skin just screams “healthy”. It is far lovelier than any makeup, although I like and use makeup.

I’ll admit I am really careful about balancing my nutrition. I have worked hard on my gut health over the last three years so I can really absorb the nutrients I eat. I have learned to listen to my body and be intuitive about what it may need. The needs of our bodies changes based on many factors including the time of year, our age, exposure to toxins, activity levels, stress, sleep, illness, and our environment.

Food is your most basic form of self care. One thing I rarely compromise on with myself is, I don’t eat junk. If I am having a treat, the food is real food ingredients. If you adopt this way of eating, if you aren’t already, you will get feedback as your body changes. We really are what we eat. People will comment on how obvious it is that you take care of yourself, and ask you your secret.

Next week I will share a new chocolate chip cookie recipe with you made from real food. All the recipes you will find on my blog are real food recipes. So check out the recipe index.
