Self Care Saturdays!

self care saturday

It’s Self Care Saturday!
This morning I woke up and did an energizing yoga flow while masking! Yup multi-tasking again! I also start every day with a large glass of water. I love getting on my mat, because it loosens me up, makes me feel good in my body, and boosts my energy!
Some of you know I’ve had a very painful shoulder injury for the last year and a half that is finally improving, but I’m still very careful with what I do with my right shoulder so I don’t re-injure it, which I’ve done twice!

I love my breakfast of a highly nourishing smoothie and a matcha green tea latte I make myself. Smoothies for breakfast are my thing, because I can pack so much nutrition into them.! (See my recipe index under smoothies for some recipes) I’m a big eater, so I make a big smoothie. 🥑🍒🥝🥕🍓

Creamy Dreamy Tropical Ginger Smoothie- Day 6 – Seven Days of Smoothies

Day six will take you to a warm paradise with the pineapple and ginger in this smoothie! Fresh ginger is wonderful for digestion, has antiviral properties, is anti-inflammatory, and is a warming food. The frozen banana makes this a creamy sweet smoothie, and the fresh lemon juice brightens the flavors.

Creamy Dreamy Tropical Ginger - Seven Days of Smoothies - Day 6

Creamy Dreamy Tropical Ginger Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 Frozen Banana, Sliced

1/2 Cup Frozen or Fresh Pineapple Chunks

1/2 Cup Orange Juice (no sugar added)

1 teaspoon minced, fresh ginger root

1 Tablespoon of Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

2 Tablespoons of Grass Fed Gelatin or Your Favorite Protein Powder (add after initial blending and blend just until incorporated to prevent foaming)

Blend all the ingredients together until very smooth. Then add the gelatin or protein powder and blend briefly.

Enjoy your day!

Blueberry Blast Fruit & Nut Smoothie

Are you a fan of healthy smoothies like me? I love all the blended nutrition you can get in a smoothie, and how they are so easy to digest. I am especially a fan of really cold ones. The coolness of the smoothie gives me a sense of well being. A warm beverage can do the same thing depending on the season, time of day, if I just worked out or was romping around the yard with Ming and the girls. My favorite smoothies are ones that get their sweetness from whole fruit and no added sugar like this Blueberry Blast Nut Smoothie. It is simple to make and can be enjoyed any time you get a craving. This delicious smoothie takes only minutes to whip together, and contains good fat from Coconut Milk and a Nut Butter of your choice, as well as Blueberries and Melon for Vitamin C, Antioxidants and Phytonutrients. There is the option for add ins for more health benefits!
