Please, if you do not eat honey on the Low FodMap diet you are folllowing, do not bash the creator of the recipe. I write my recipes using the protocol I personally used and thousands of others have and do as well with success. It is available as a PDF for free at the top of my website. Dr. Allison Siebecker’s SIBO Specific Low FodMap food guide which allows for honey under 2 tablespoons. All rude comments will not be tolerated and removed. As a recipe writer, I work hard to write recipes for myself and others who have dietary restrictions and digestive challenges.

    • The Low FodMap recipes on this blog specifically follow Elaine Gottschall’s SCD Diet based on her book Breaking The Viscious Cycle. SCD stands for Specific Carb Diet, and also follows Dr. Allison Siebecker’s diet plan for SIBO which incorporates a Low FodMap Diet into the SCD Diet. This is the plan I followed under my doctor’s guidance when I had SIBO, and it is very effective. I wrote the recipes to share with others who were also suffering and for me personally. Maple Syrup is “Illegal” on this diet. The printable Low FodMap SIBO Food Guide can be found at the top of my page. The honey used in this plan is alfalfa, cotton, clover or raspberry, which are kept under 2 Tablespoons per serving. I use clover. But definitely do what works best for your body.
